The Nimbic management team consists of members with many years of domain experience and at industry leading companies including Synopsys, Intel, Ansoft and IBM. Nimbic’s technical team is comprised of members who are very highly accomplished, 70% of whom have a PhD in Electrical Engineering.
Chief Executive Officer
Raul Camposano, PhD, is CEO at Nimbic. He has over 25 years of experience in electronics and design technology with careers in industry and academia. Until 2009 he was President and CEO of Xoomsys, a startup in design technology. From 1994 to 2007 he was with Synopsys, where he served as Chief Technology Officer, Senior Vice President, and General Manager for multiple Business Units. Prior to joining Synopsys, Dr. Camposano was a professor of Computer Science at GMD in Germany and a staff member at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. Raul holds a B.S. and M.S. in EE from the University of Chile, and a Ph.D. in CS from the University of Karlsruhe. He has published over 70 technical papers and three books. Dr. Camposano serves on numerous editorial, advisory and company boards and was an Advisory Professor at Fudan University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was elected Fellow of the IEEE in 1999.
Chief Marketing Officer
Bala Vishwanath is Chief Marketing Officer at Nimbic. Mr. Vishwanath came to Nimbic as the Founding CEO with over 15 years of experience in high-technology companies ranging from start-ups such as Epic Design Technology to public corporations such as Synopsys. He was the Founder as well as CEO of Smarte, a company in the software licensing space with enterprise customers that included Intel, Microsoft, Disney and Sony. At Synopsys, he managed the worldwide technical sales team supporting Intel Corporation. Previously, Mr. Vishwanath had worked as a Design Engineer at Cirrus Logic and Crystal Semiconductor. Mr. Vishwanath has an MS Electrical Engineering from the University of Hawaii, Manoa, BS Electrical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, India and engineering certificate from the University of California, Berkeley.
Vikram Jandhyala, PhD, is Founder and Chief Technologist at Nimbic. He is also Professor and Chair of Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington, Director of the Applied Computational Engineering lab, and a Presidential Entrepreneurial Faculty Fellow at UW’s Center for Commercialization. He has published approximately 200 papers and is a recipient of an NSF CAREER award, the UWEE Chair’s award for leading UWEE’s Professional Masters Program, an outstanding research advisor award at UWEE, and a patent inventor award from NASA. His industrial experience includes developing 3D parasitic extraction tools at Ansoft, and consulting for Cadence Design Systems, Computational Fluid Dynamics Research Corporation, NASA, and Calypso Medical. His research interests encompass many aspects of large-scale simulation and physics-based computation. He received his MS and PhD in EE from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his BTech in EE from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
Vice President, Engineering
Don MacMillen, PhD, is Vice President of Engineering at Nimbic. Dr. MacMillen has over 25 years of experience in both the Semiconductor and EDA industries. He was with Synopsys in a variety of roles including Vice President of Engineering for Mixed Signal Simulation and Vice President of the Advanced Technology Group. After Synopsys, he was Vice President of Software Engineering at Stretch, a fabless semiconductor company focused on applications of reconfigurable computing to video encoding. Dr. MacMillen had also previously worked at VLSI Technology, Sierra Semiconductor and Inmos Corporation. Don received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Theoretical Chemistry from University of Rochester in New York.
Vice President, WW Sales
Keith Morton is Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Nimbic. Mr. Morton has over 20 years of experience in EDA sales and marketing. He was most recently VP Global Accounts at Magma Design Automation where he spent 8 years in various sales and sales management roles. He has significant startup experience at companies such as EPIC Design where he helped drive the rapid sales growth that led to an acquisition by Synopsys. At Synopsys he took on various sales positions, including an assignment at NSKK in Tokyo, Japan where he managed sales for design services. Prior to entering EDA, Keith spent 5 years at Motorola in various engineering positions and holds a BS-EE degree from the University of Missouri – Rolla.
