nApex (formerly PhysAPEX) is Nimbic’s accelerated full-3D electro-magneto-quasi-static extractor (EMQS). nApex enables designers of chip interfaces, redistribution layer, package, board, system, and SiP, to rapidly and accurately extract reliable and complete SPICE models in a fully automated manner. nApex is ideally suited for power integrity, low-frequency SSN/SSO, and complete-system SPICE model generation while accounting for skin effect impact on resistance and inductance. The EMQS nature enables faster runtimes than full-wave simulations.

nApex – Accelerated Extraction of SPICE Models for Chip-Through-System Designs


nApex enables rapid electrical model and SPICE netlist generation for use in all aspects of signal integrity and power integrity design, and simultaneous switching analysis. This includes simultaneous handling of power and signal nets of significantly different impedances.  nApex features GDS, package and board import capability from all industry standard formats as well as intuitive and fast 3D model merging and combining utilities within an integrated workspace.

nApex uses a proprietary loss modeling technique to capture the DC and skin-depth based high-frequency behavior of resistance and inductance. The broadband behavior is represented using a single frequency-independent circuit in the output SPICE model.
