nBand is Nimbic’s fast net quality verification tool based on 3D simulation. nBand enables PCB test engineers to easily check the quality of signal and power nets reliably through geometry adaptive fast 3D simulation.
nBand allows test engineering groups to define success criterion on individual nets through convenient GUI driven widgets. The test groups can be exported and imported for reuse with desired modification across multiple versions of the candidate designs under test.
nBand has the capability of automatic set-up based on test definition, including circuit attachment, appropriate port definition and selection of relevant simulation domain. This facilitates easy deployment across many test engineers without the requirement of extensive training.
Along with internal visualization of frequency dependent S,Y,Z parameters and net-wise resistance , inductance and capacitance tables, nBand exports convenient hierarchical report based on the specific test criteria with various levels of details such as a pass/fail table or detailed view of scattering matrix, impedance profile etc.
nBand is designed to analyze large scale PCBs within the limited resource of 32bit individual workstations. Simulation time is orders of magnitude faster compared to the state-of-the-art accelerated 3D full-wave solution.
Under the hood, nBand leverages the best of accelerated scalable 3D full-wave field-solver technology that forms the core of nWAVE in conjunction with a geometry-adaptive decision engine which automatically exploits local physical redundancies such as known current paths and localized field behavior at the level of boundary-element matrices while preserving 3D accuracy. Additionally nBand takes full advantage of multilevel parallelism upon availability of compute resources to further boost analysis speed.

Design Flow
nBand seamlessly fits into existing major PCB analysis flows. It accepts standard PCB design formats as input, support optional editing capabilities within the tool and a completely automated test-driven reusable setup to produce comprehensive reports on net quality verification based on predefined criteria on signal and power nets.
